I started my meal with raviolis in cream, a very popular starter in Grenoble restaurants. The raviolis are stuffed with cheese and herbs, and are very tasty and filling.

I chose a Tavel (Rhône Cotes) for the wine. This is a substantial, and relatively dry rose, which went well with the ravioli and the main course (chicken).

Tavel Wine

My main course was Chicken filet with a blue cheese sauce. The blue cheese sauce was very mild to accompany the chicken, but very tasty. The chicken was served with sliced potatoes in the same sauce.

For dessert, I had a Chartreuse ice cream tart. It is very typical to flavor dessserts with Chartreuse in Isere.

I finished this with an espresso, which was served with the typical square of dark chocolate (after a meal like this, some anti-oxidants are good). The entire meal as described here was 39 Euros (includes a 37.5 cl bottle of Tavel).
